Becoming a member

It’s easy to become a member

Drop us a note or simply tell us that your organisation wants to nominate a represetative to NWSCCA. We will want to know who the chairman and secretary are and their addresses. Also, their phone numbers, if available. If we need more information we will get in touch with you. Naturally, we expect representatives to be residents of North West Sutherland.

After you join

You receive confirmation of your membership;
You don’t pay anything;
You are not liable for any debts unless you become a director (when you would be subject to company law);
You don’t have to do anything unless you want to.

What we will do for you

We invite you to general meetings of the council, including the annual general meeting;
We invite you to put forward a representative of your organisation for membership of our board of directors;
We offer you a variety of office services, many of them at no cost, others at greatly reduced prices;
We offer you offer services which could include making representations on your group’s behalf, helping with a funding applications etc;
We consider asking your organisation to nominate a person to one of our committees, either standing or ad hoc.

Should you be elected to the board

You have the opportunity of taking part in the only broad-based forum dealing exclusively with matters affecting North West Sutherland;
You help assess needs in the locality;
You have a say in deciding the priorities of the council.

Single?

Individuals can also be members and it’s even easier than for organisations. Drop us a note and we will take it from there. You can also be elected to the board if you have experience or special knowledge of the voluntary sector.
